Is There A Meaningful Way To RATE A Public Official?

We often, debate, or see others, doing so, whether, an elected official, is a good, or poorer choice, in terms of serving and representing, the best interests of his constituents, and the nation! Since, there are many political perspectives/ positions, and, most people, have some personal preferences, etc, this consideration, often, becomes challenging, to perform, in a meaningful way. How can anyone, truly, RATE any public leader, in a way, which prioritizes, his level of service and representation, and putting the public, and the greater good, ahead of any personal/ political agenda, and/ or, self – interest, in a realistic manner? With, that in mind, this article will attempt to, briefly, consider, examine, review, and discuss, using the mnemonic approach, what this means and represents, and why it matters.

1. Relevant; realistic; ramifications; reasoning; responsible/ responsive; right: Wouldn’t it, be nice, if these, so – called, representatives, emphasized, and prioritized, doing, what’s right (rather than, merely, expedient)? What good does any approach, do, unless/ until, it is relevant, sustainable, and well – considered? We need realistic ideas, which consider, potential ramifications, plan accordingly for potential contingencies, and, proceeds, in a responsible way, which is responsive, to the needs of those, he is supposed to serve and represent!

2. Attitude; aptitude; actions; articulate; attention: It takes a true, positive, can – do, attitude (but, without, proceeding, wearing, rose – colored glasses), to consider, the bigger – picture! Evaluate, whether the individual has the aptitude, and needed, skill – set, to take the needed, actions, especially, when they might not be the most popular, etc! One can’t make a difference, for the better, unless/ until, he pays keen attention, to everything, which may affect, the national, and individual, best – interests.

3. Timely; time – tested; trustworthy/ truth/ trust; trends; together: Unless/ until, one emphasizes, bringing people together, for the greater good, he can’t be, the type of leader, this nation, and citizens, need, and deserve! He must tell the truth, especially, when it may be inconvenient, in order to be considered, trustworthy, and earn others’ trust! Combining, well – considered, timely action, with considering, time – tested, knowledge, and expertise, enhance any leader’s potential, to effectively, serve!

4. Empathy; efforts; emphasis; excellence; enduring; enrich; evolving: Since, our world, and nation, are, constantly, evolving, we need public leaders, who are, ready, willing, and able to evolve, accordingly! One’s emphasis, must be based, on these principles, and all efforts, must be based on excellence, and enriching, others, in a real way!

If, voters would consider, a candidate’s qualities, and qualifications, before voting, anyone, into – office, and, RATE them, accordingly, we would all benefit! Are you ready, and willing, to being a more, responsible voter?
